Pantom Mare Set-up Instructions Headline
Designed and Manufactured by Lane Manufacturing, Inc.

The Phantom Mare base is triangular in shape. The wide end (A), which is 20", is the front, and is the base for the two legs. The Phantom Mare extends 38" beyond the front of the base and 10" beyond the rear.

Clearance should be adequate to walk a horse around the entire Phantom Mare and to give the handler space, should the stallion slip and fall off. Safety for both the handler and the stallion should be considered when positioning the Phantom Mare.

The base of the Phantom Mare will need to be buried in concrete. Dig a hole 13" deep by 24" wide at the front, angling down to approximately 14" at the rear. If your soil is sandy, you will want to increase the hole size slightly. Position the base so that the ¾" mounting plates will be flush with the finished concrete, or slightly higher. Level the base in all directions across both plates so the Phantom Mare will be level when mounted. Fill the hole with concrete, encasing the base. Check to make sure it is still level; be careful not to get concrete in the mounting holes.

If the stallion is to stand on concrete when collecting, rough the concrete with a stiff broom before it cures so that the finish is not smooth.
